Description

Japanese Sumi-e Ink Painting: Flowers with Yumiko Kigoshi - Ink painting originated in China and was introduced to Japan during the 11th and 12th century. In Japan the art was refined to encapsulate the Japanese sense of beauty. In this workshop you will learn how to use various Japanese inks black and coloured (Gansai), to paint a variety of flower forms. You will also learn about different types of Japanese paper and how to work Japanese ink with water and gelatine. This course is suitable for beginners and intermediate students.
